1982 proved a strong year for the Bears under the guidance of Coach Ron Willey. Mark Graham had come across to the Bears the year before and alongside John Adam, they captained the team to a third-place finish in 1982. The team progressed through to the final's series (our first appearance in 17 years), although going down in both the Major Prelim Final and the Minor Semi the following week.
